PTR - Track based wheelchair stairclimber
The Liftkar PTR is tracked stairclimber for easily and safely moving wheelchairs up and down stairs. An operator is required.
Designed for straight staircases and capable of up to 160kg
(25 stone, including the wheelchair), this climber operators via a single button. Once the tracks climb up the stairs it requires virtually no effort by the controller.
While on the flat ground, the wheelchair is rolled into place, brakes applied and then locked into place with retention bracket. The wheelchair is then tilted back and locked into postion on the transport. In this position the person and the stairclimber are balanced making it easy to move to the stairs.
Once climbing starts the wheel returns to a level position. At the top of the stairs it is pivoted back and the tracks are allowed to continue on the flat landing.
This climber will support a set of steps up to an angle of 35 degrees with an option of 3 different climbing speeds (Speed 1 - 4.5 m/min, Speed 2 - 5.5 m/min - Speed 3 - 6.5 m/min)
The PTR has been designed for self-propelled or transport wheelchair and is ideal on large building entry or staircases or outside step access.
